The original owners of Dee Pat Automotive opened their doors almost 50 years ago, bringing the finest in car care service and repair… and we’re still continuing to do exactly that!

History

In 1976 three men, George and Charlie Smith along with Dennis Lee, opened Dee Pat Automotive naming the repair garage after their daughters Denise and Patrice. For almost 20 years they took care of their customers before selling the business to Bill Dunlop. In 1995 Bill assumed ownership of the garage continuing in the original owners’ footsteps.

In 2005 Jeff Boeckel opened Awsomotive Car Care, a small shop in Mt Sinai with only a couple of employees. For over 15 years he served the surrounding area with honesty and integrity, providing quality service and repairs.

Bill and Jeff grew to know each other through attending the same industry and shop owner events. In 2023 Bill, who was looking to commit less hours to the business, decided to sell the garage to Jeff but stay on part time. Jeff then combined both of the business names together creating Dee Pat’s Awosmotive Auto Repair. Bill now works part time behind the counter a couple days a week, which means he gets to enjoy more time with his family. And Jeff is continuing to follow in Bill’s footsteps, providing the same quality and honest work that his customers have come to know.

Jeff Boeckel is a Class A Master Technician who has achieved the highest level of certification through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). In order to achieve this level of excellence a technician must demonstrate expertise in diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle systems across multiple areas like engine, drivetrain, electrical systems, heating and air conditioning, suspension, and more. Jeff has worked in the automotive industry for over 25 years specializing in complex electrical diagnostics and repairs, as well as custom fabrication.
